Payment is done Via Paypal to Paypal.me/thylema in two parts, first half after the sketch and half before mailing.
You will receive updates/WIPs per every phase of the process and for every large decision, unless you explicitly ask that I do not do this.
You will receive the sculpture by mail, a track and trace number will be provided to you.
Turnaround time from accepting to finishing your commission can range from 1 week to 2 months, depending on complexity, detail and size.
If I do not provide you with an update you have the right to request one at any time. I may take longer to update you due to personal life issues or injuries, which I will notify you of.
You may cancel your order before the first half is paid, if you do so after the commission has been started you will not receive a full refund but may still pay postage to receive the WIP.
Depending on the state of the WIP and the amount you paid for the frst half, we may be able to come to an agreement where I turn your rough WIP into an impromptu design.
In the case of my error you are entitled to a partial refund, a discount or a complete rework, depending on the situation.
You may not use the sculpture for AI training. You may not use it to make NFTs.
If you have agreed to join the waiting list, and I currently cannot take your commission, you will be notified by email.
I have the right to reject the commission without justification on my end.
I offer commissions in my own style or based on your design/reference, but within limitations of the material. I really appreciate receiving a sketch of what you want, even a very rough one.
If you have a certain budget, unusual requests or another question, I am always happy to discuss these things and make it work for you.
Because I use Paypal I deal with fees imposed by them. If you choose to cover the fee, your carving will be sent out with a small gift such as a keychain, button or tiny figurine.

Q: What kind of wood do you use?
A: I use basswood/linde almost exclusively, as it is easy to carve and burn.
Q: What kind of tools do you use?
A: I mostly use whittling/carving knives, primarily Morakniv and Beavercraft knives specially made for carving. A pocket knife can do the job too, but will be less reliable.
Q: What do you use to get those black lines and accents?
A: The lines are burnmarks produced using a pyrography pen. They can be found for cheap in art stores, but I have a more expensive one with temperature adjustment capabilities.
Q: How can I get into this, do you have any advice?
A: Start with getting yourself a knife, protective gloves and some wood. Take your time getting used to the knife and the different kinds of angles you can approach the wood grain from. After that, decide on a shape you want to carve and do it, don't fear the failure.
Q: May I copy a design of yours for practice?
A: Yes you may! Please do make sure it isn't a commissioned piece, as I cannot provide permission for the use of someone else's design. I also ask that if you share it online, you credit me.
